The unknown bandit first entered Nancy’s Nail Salon at 6045 Castor Ave. at about 7:25 p.m. and began looking around the business. When confronted by an employee, the man claimed he was looking for his mother and sister, police said. He left the store, only to return minutes later armed with a rifle. He approached the front counter that was unattended and grabbed an envelope that had been placed next to the cash register. He fled the store in a light-colored sedan and was last seen traveling southbound on Castor Avenue.

The robber was described as black, 30 years old, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, thin, with a green bucket hat, white shirt, gray sweatshirt and black pants.
